Some New Years Eve pictures

Following up on the delayed christmas pictures, I figured I'd fill in with some of the pictures I took on New Years Eve. This actually includes not only my first attempts to shoot fireworks with my D70 digital SLR, but actually my first serious attempt at shooting fireworks at all... it's with things like this that the advantage of digital cams really become evident, as there's a lot of trial and error, an you get instant feedback. I'm really pleased with some of these pics, many were taken with ISO values of over 1000, and yet there's surprisingly little noise. Anyway, I figured I'd start with my speciality, sunsets :D This is not any sunset, either... it's the last sunset of 2004, on New Years Eve. Anyway, off to the party, etc... 8 hours later, at midnight, the sky lights up with all sorts of fireworks - from the large, but simple to the more complex. However, my favourites were the pictures where I managed to capture the crowds in the light from the fireworks. It wasn't easy when only using handheld equipment and people moving about all the time, but I think I managed to capture some neat ones.
