New Mouse! :-D

Bought a new mouse last week, for my über-excellent BF/BFV/DC gaming... After evaluating the options carefully I decided that the ultimate gaming companion to my trusted allround mouse Logitech MX900 would be the cool little Razer Diamondback Magma. So what's wrong with the MX900? Well, I've noticed that in fast and intense first perspective shooters, it has a tendency to lag behind a bit. Also, it's pretty heavy (with the batteries and all, so after a long gaming session I can feel the strain in my arm. Finally, I've had some problems properly configuring the buttons in some programs (like BF), and some of their placements are awkward. So far I haven't installed the mouse drivers for the Diamondback, since they come with very strong suggestions not to do so without uninstalling other mousedrivers first. I'll try to run the Logitech drivers and these side by side, but not until I have the time to clean up should anything go terribly wrong. But so far everything is going swell, the mouse works very well, is extremely responsive, light, and so I even find myself using it for some general work too. At least it's a good backup since I regularly forget to charge the MX900 when I'm away. Did I mention how cool it is? So, what about the competition then? Well, the only one I can see trying to match the Razer Viper and Diamondbacks in responsiveness is the Logitech MX1000 laser mouse. But when I mentioned this in the store, the dude behind the counter (a fellow geek) brought out a unit for me to test. And boy was I surprised! It's even heavier than the MX900 a LOT heavier! How anyone can do any ammount of gaming (or intense work over some time) with this, is beyond me. Which also makes me wonder what kind of testing Stéphane Kaufmann did in the Tomshardware.com article about the Diamondback. I suppose it might be an issue of taste, somehow... or possibly lubrication...
